Innovation at Miva University is not just a buzzword—it is increasingly becoming a lived experience, shaped by students who are identifying real problems and building meaningful solutions beyond the classroom.
Across different levels and disciplines, Miva students are showing that innovation thrives when curiosity meets purpose. From software engineering to public health and accounting, these students are translating knowledge into tools and ideas that respond to real needs within Nigeria’s educational and social system in general.
One such example is Jessica Austin Oghenemaro, a 400-level Software Engineering student, who created Provsy, an assignment and educational tool designed to simplify academic workflows and improve learning experiences. Provsy reflects a deep understanding of the challenges students face daily, offering a practical solution that supports both productivity and learning efficiency within the education system.
In the public health space, Tejere Francis Temitope, a 300-level Public Health student, is addressing a critical but often overlooked issue. Through Project Bloom, she is working to share sanitary pads across universities in Nigeria, promoting menstrual health, dignity, and access for female students. Her project highlights how innovation can be driven by empathy and a commitment to social impact.
Furthermore ,at the foundational level, Akagboju Evan Uju, a 100-level Accounting student, is already exploring the future of finance and compliance. She developed the idea of an AI-powered accounting and tax solution, aimed at simplifying financial processes and improving accuracy. Though still in development, the project reflects early initiative and a forward-thinking approach to technology in accounting.

Together, these stories underscore what innovation at Miva truly represents: students who are not waiting until graduation to make an impact. They are learning, building, experimenting, and contributing, each at their own pace, but with a shared drive to solve problems and create value and rewriting the trends that have been set by their predecessors. As Miva continues to grow as an open and forward-looking institution, these student-led initiatives stand as proof that innovation is already taking root; quietly, steadily, and meaningfully.
